The album is essentially my first big step in attempting to get somewhere with my own music. Who does potential work for?
I am fully expecting to get to the top of the mountain, within a matter of months now, and shove my dirty flag into the dirt and scream ecstatic profanities down on the village below. Yet, there is this odd feeling in the back of my mind that karate chops my concentration every once in a while…. Everest times three just off in the distance. The trick is to not listen to that nagging voice and to just get my picnic blanket ready if that is, in fact, the case.
Posted in Mantrakid , Music. I could go into details on these issues hardware not being recognized, software crashing, weird wifi connection issues. I thought perhaps it was just the weight of me being a curious user for a couple years finally coming down on me. I like to try new software, so I occasionally go through these binges of researching new software and seeing if any of it is going to help me out in my productivity, etc.
If I can spend an hour learning about something that saves me 20, then I become happy. Tiny—or even large—pieces of shit that sit in these remote random locations on your drive causing things to become slow, or even inoperable. I figured this would save me the most time as I could keep all my other third-party software installed, and simply over-write the operating system with the new version. Whether or not these issues had any relationship to the previous problem, and was simply a case of the previous problem getting worse, or else these new problems were completely isolated from the previous problems, and existed solely within Leopard itself….
I truly had no clue. Regardless, my computer is ass right now. I feel my only solution at this point is to wipe the drive clean, and reinstall Leopard from scratch on the empty drive, then slowly install the apps I use again one at a time. Time consuming, yes, but if it means I can use everything I need to do again, well.. The good news is that my external drive is Mac Formatted, so I wont even be able to connect it to my Windows Vista laptop to get the files off it.
Posted in Computers. So i recently have been having some problems with my phone. I have been interested in getting an actual GPS device since picking one up for my Pops for christmas, so I was quite excited by this finding. The trouble was that it was quite a hefty process to actually get through in order to actually have a functioning phone by the end of it. I flipped through roughly pages on the xda forums researching how to do it properly, and basically listening to constant repetition of other people making mistakes and requesting immediate assistance in the forums, usually with a respectfully delivered solution.
After a while I felt I had absorbed enough info, I was gonna give it a shot. From this point on, Im going to avoid the Twainisms and just get down to point form action. Also a warning — doing this to your phone pretty much voids your warranty. Basically this thing is going to make your phone virtually un-breakable… meaning, if you do manage to break it on a software level you can always run some shit to unbreak it.
I got the bootloader from this link. Here is some extra info regarding the installation of the bootloader. The only thing on it is the software waiting to get more commands to load more functioning info. This also enables the GPS functionality. Get the radio ROM from here.
It will reset your phone into the bootloader screen again the one with the color bars and then you can proceed to run the next rom. If you want to learn more about the radio ROM installation, check this link. This will basically get your phone up to the factory default settings, but with a newer version that you got out of the box.
All the little phone apps get installed at this point — like Calculator, Calendar, Tasks, Contacts, Internet Explorer, etc. Click here to get the final ROM installation. Just listen to the familiar robot lady tell you what to do. This basically activates your GPS. Go to the settings, enable GPS and you should see it trying to connect. Stand outside for a second and you should be able to connect to sattelites within a few minutes.
Youre golden. Word the hell up. All credit goes to the peeps involved in hacking this stuff together, etc. Huge props to dcd on the xda developers forum.

I have to say…Guerolito is golden… Almost the entire album was really a pleasant surprise and I can honestly say that one after another I was blown away at hearing how artists I already knew and loved could bring a whole new light to one of my favorite musicians. I say with great dismay that this song destroys the entire experience for me.
Every time I hear this song, my heart wrenches at the reality that this remix was a last minute hack job. How can I be so sure? I would have gouged out both of my eyes to do a last minute remix for Beck. It seems ridiculous to me that this track was the best that these guys came up with, even if all they had was a day… that track sounds like something that would have taken me an hour to do.
That track sounds like something that someone learning how to use Reason could string together while playing with the drum presets. Lucky sons of fucks took for granted an opportunity that I for one would have sold my soul for. And that really chaps my ass. Fuck me. Posted in Music. Hge apologies to anyone who read the Oregon Jupiter things I was writing last summer. I stopped cold turkey without explanation but the truth was that I had hit a severely big roadblock when i was writing it… it was almost like I had revealed too much at once, and all of a sudden i just didnt care anymore.
I shit the bed on the writing too — it was supposed to be full of mystique and intrigue and you were supposed to get these answers in little trickles so it would feel compelling as you began to piece things together in your head as you read it, but instead it was like I had a bad verbal burrito, and the end result was this overload of excremental explanation in the form of a weak conversation between two underdeveloped characters.

HTC has been making Pocket PC phones and Windows Mobile smartphones for a long time, but only recently have they started to market their products under their own banner. Earlier this month, we reported that the Taiwanese phonemaker was invading Canada with an army of smartphones , one of which is the HTC P available through Telus Mobility. The one critical difference is that Telus opted for the tried and true Windows Mobile 5, whereas Sprint lunged into the next generation by pre-loading Windows Mobile 6.
In terms of features, HTC has done a good, but not great job with the P Unlike many of its predecessors, the P has a spring-assisted slider rather than a full manual one. The five-way navigator on the face, as well as the four other soft keys including the Windows and OK buttons are equally lacking in tactile feedback. I do like having the OK button on the face, however. As this is a Pocket PC, the large color display is a touchscreen: the retractable stylus comes out of a slot in the bottom right.
This is especially apparent when the P switches from portrait to landscape mode and vice versa. I must have had some sort of mental hiccup in there… sorry for calling it Intellisync. I of course meant ActiveSync. The 2. The portable version of Windows Media Player is what it always has been: adequate, but not astounding.
Watching videos on this thing, especially in landscape mode, is quite enjoyable though. There are two main connectivity options.
First, if you happen to find yourself in a WiFi hotspot, you can quickly hit the hard switch on the left side of the phone to activate the wireless radio, let it detect the network, and away you go.
